City Centre

As Europe’s youngest Capital City, Cardiff has grown to become an extremely vibrant and cosmopolitan city since achieving it’s status in 1955.  However, it has managed not to lose its small town quality despite the cosmetic changes to it’s infrastructure.

The centre of the city is surprisingly compact but don’t let this deceive you on what this city has to offer!

Most sights and attractions are a short walk from one another, including the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff Castle, and the Civic Centre which houses the Museum, Civic Buildings and City Hall.

Spread below these impressive landmarks you will find a wealth of shops, bars, restaurants and clubs - something for everyone.

The pedestrianised shopping areas and modern shopping malls are interspersed with beautifully kept Victorian Arcades.

With a vast selection of attractive parks within the city centre, you are never too far from peace and solitude.  Attractions like the Roath Park Boating Lake and Llandaff Cathedral are to the north of the city, whilst just a couple of miles south of the centre you will find the ever changing and upmarket  Cardiff Bay
