Cardiff-based luxury apartment provider, A Space in the City, is celebrating its 5th birthday this month by reaching its five year target of becoming the largest serviced apartment provider in south Wales.
Set up by director Richard Godfrey, A Space in the City has grown rapidly since its inception in 2005.
With a 13 strong team to oversee the day to day running of the firm, the company now has 110 beds across Swansea and Cardiff, offering visitors to the cities and businesses a high-quality alternative to luxury hotel accommodation.
On celebrating the success of A Space in the City, founder and director Richard Godfrey commented: "We are delighted to be celebrating our 5th birthday with the news that we have reached our five year goal of becoming the largest serviced accommodation provider in Wales. Having worked in the property market in Wales for several years, I noticed there was a niche in market for a company to provide first-class accommodation for those looking for a real alternative to luxury hotels.
"When I launched A Space In the City, serviced apartments were becoming a growing in popularity in the UK, and something of which Wales' major cities, Cardiff and Swansea were in need of.
"Over the last five years we have doubled our headcount and have opened a second office in Swansea in addition to our headquarters in Cardiff to focus on growing the business in Wales' second city, in addition to servicing existing clientele in the south west. The recent key appointment of our operations manager has enabled me to concentrate on growing the business. The growth of the business is a huge triumph and testament to our team of hardworking and loyal staff who have made this progress both possible and enjoyable. I am looking forward to taking A Space in the City to the next level over the coming months."
The apartments, which also include penthouses with spectacular views across Cardiff and Swansea, are complete with lavish décor, digital TV, broadband and housekeeping facilities. The high end apartments are said to offer consumers and businesses ‘a home from home' experience.
Richard added: "More and more people, and particularly those traveling for business purposes, do not want to be confined to a hotel room for the duration of their stay.
"We offer our clients a stay that is second to none. Our service level is that of a five star hotel, but you are not restricted to the four walls of a hotel bedroom. Guests are provided with a modern, furnished apartment with separate living areas, bedroom quarters, a fully equipped kitchen and all the home comforts you would expect."
The business is now embarking on further growth plans which will see it expand its current portfolio of luxury serviced apartments across the UK over the coming months.
