Cardiff joins world’s top 10 for summer trips
04/07/11
Cardiff has been chosen as one of the 10 best places in the world to visit this summer by National Geographic magazine. The capital of Wales is in sixth place - the only UK location to be featured – above Roatan, in Croatia, the Caribbean island of Honduras and the Azores. The National Geographic Traveler editors who rated Cardiff so highly noted: “Cardiff is emerging as a modern sports-entertainment destination. Summer action centers on Cardiff Bay, once the world’s largest coal-exporting port, now a 500-acre freshwater lake with eight miles of waterfront.”
